An air compressor is short for an air compression machine. It is the pressure required to compress free air, at which point the air becomes compressed air. Compressed air has always been one of the power sources used in metal mines and coal mines. It is used to operate pneumatic rock drills, pneumatic loading machines, pneumatic conveyors, pneumatic forging tools, pneumatic hammers and other equipment as well as pneumatic tools. It is also used to drive pneumatic prime movers (commonly known as air motors), which in turn are used to power working machinery. Compared to using electricity, hydropower, hydraulic power, etc., using compressed air as a power source has the following characteristics. 1) The pneumatic rock drill has a simple structure, is lightweight, and is easy to operate and maintain. 2) It is not afraid of overload, and is suitable for pneumatic tools that can drill hard rocks and experience large variations in load. 3) In super gas mines, gas explosions caused by electric sparks can be avoided. 4) The air discharged by pneumatic tools and air motors can improve ventilation conditions underground. 5) The structure of the air compressor, as well as its operation and maintenance, are relatively simple. 6) Pneumatic tools generate significant vibration and noise when in operation. 7) Pneumatic tools have low efficiency; since they use compressed air as power, their cost is much higher than that of using electricity directly. Over the past few decades, people have been exploring various new rock drilling tools. Nevertheless, due to the unique advantages of using compressed air as a power source, air compression equipment will continue to be widely used in mines both now and for some time to come
The explanation of academic ability is quite comprehensive; thank you
