What does EMTD mean in the HTRI calculation results? What is the calculation formula? Why is the calculated value much larger than the logarithmic heat transfer temperature difference?
EMTD – Effective Mean Temperature Difference. EMTD = (MTD) * (DELTA) * (F/G/H). (MTD) – The average temperature driving force without adjustments for delta and heat losses. (Delta) – A correction for the deviations in temperature distribution caused by leaks and bypass flow. (F/G/H) —— A correction for heat loss through the longitudinal partition when the shell side is of type F, G, or H.
