I know that detecting hydrogen sulfide using gas chromatography requires a detector, but the school only has an electron capture detector (ECD); there is no flame photometric detector as required by national standards. Can the ECD be used to detect the concentration of hydrogen sulfide? What is the lower limit concentration of hydrogen sulfide that can be detected using ECD?
What is the approximate H2S level you need to detect? A TCD detector is sufficient for constants. Measuring trace amounts requires an FPD flame photometric detector. This detector can measure 0.5 ppm without any problem. The ECD, or electron capture detector, as far as I know, has fewer than a few applications in online analysis in China.
