The steam exiting the drum is superheated before entering the steam collection header; however, I have also seen cases where such a header is not used. Please discuss the purpose of installing a steam collection header – is it necessary to have one?
Whether to install a header tank depends on your system; it is considered only when the steam from multiple boilers needs to be combined, or when the steam from a single boiler needs to be supplied to different users

The purpose of using a steam collection header is as follows: 1) To further mix the superheated steam through the header, thereby balancing the pressure differences between various superheater tubes; to reduce thermal disparities among these tubes due to uneven flow rates, and to prevent individual superheater tubes with low flow rates from overheating; 2) Facilitates the installation of important valves such as the main steam valve, safety valve, and vent valve on the steam header ; 3) Facilitates the layout of the main steam pipeline. Therefore, except for small-capacity boilers that are equipped only with a superheater outlet header, larger boilers (with a evaporation capacity of more than 75 t/h) almost all have a superheater steam collection header.
