Equipment leakage test: The attached sleeve-type linings, including cover strips, and nozzle linings shall be tested at 103 kPa (15 psig) in accordance with ASME Section V, Articles T-1031 and T-1032, by introducing dry air between the lining and the base metal. This test must be carried out prior to post-weld heat treatment as well as before pressure testing of the vessel. Any liquid that may have accumulated between the lining and the base metal must be completely removed, and any test holes in the lining shall be sealed by welding. Please explain the terms marked in red (note that there is also a term \"base metal\" here).
This should be a gas-tightness test for the linings and covers of composite panel equipment. There is a gap between the substrate and the lining, so it is necessary to verify whether there are any leaks in the weld. Attached sleeve-type liners – these are the loose lining elements; cover strips – these are the plates or strips used for covering them. That’s how I understand it, hehe
