Project management at this stage involves keeping track of the design progress and working closely with the client. If more in-depth design work is required, it’s also necessary to ensure the feasibility of the project, that is, to maintain high standards of design quality, both in technical and non-technical aspects. If this stage is done thoroughly, subsequent stages will be simpler. It depends on the client’s requirements; some clients prefer that preliminary design work be completed even during the feasibility study phase. After this stage, the next phase is preliminary design, during which the plan needs to be further refined. There must be a detailed schedule, and clear responsibilities assigned to each specialty involved in the project, as well as proper coordination among these specialties.
