All the marks are cold-stamped on the grating panels before protection and surrounded by color lines for localization on the field. This is a description of steel grating panels; what does “marks” mean in this context so that the whole sentence makes sense?

All identifiers are applied to the surface of the grid panels using cold stamping before protection measures are put in place and colored tapes are used for marking the locations. I’m not sure if that’s what is meant; hehe, just trying to spark some discussion! !
Marking or labeling is both acceptable. Markings on the grid plates must be made before warning lines and protective measures are installed at the site.
