At 17:13 on that day, the coal gasification unit began to supply syngas to the purification plant; this marked the first time that the world’s largest gasifier has delivered syngas on a continuous basis. At 15:58 on June 21, the methanol synthesis unit was brought online safely to produce methanol product; laboratory analysis showed that the alcohol content reached 93%. It is understood that the gasification unit of Dolun Coal Chemical Company to the methanol unit spans four major processes: gasification, shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, and methanol compression synthesis, and includes three world records. The world’s largest Shell brown coal gasification unit, featuring six burners and being the first of its kind in the world capable of processing 2,870 tons of dry raw coal per day, generates 157,000 standard cubic meters of syngas per hour. It is the world’s largest low-temperature methanol washing unit for single-series gas processing, capable of handling 470,000 standard cubic meters of syngas per hour. It provides indirect heating through a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, reducing the moisture content of the raw coal from 34% to 6%; Nissan has dried lignite in quantities of nearly 10,000 tons. 2. The gasification unit utilizes Shell’s Dutch pressurized coal gasification technology; it features three series and six symmetrically adjustable burners, as well as liquid slag discharge. Each unit is capable of processing 2,800 tons of dried lignite per day, producing 157,000 Nm3/h of effective syngas. It has the world’s highest processing capacity in Shell’s coal gasification technology. 3. The processing capacity per series is the largest in the world. 5. The super-large methanol plant utilizes Germany’s Lurgi low-pressure methanol synthesis technology; it employs one gas-cooled reactor along with two water-cooled reactors to produce methanol, with waste heat being recovered. The plant has a daily methanol production capacity of 5,000 tons, ranking first in the world in terms of output. 6. The MTP unit utilizes German Lurgi technology, representing the world’s first industrial application of coal-based olefins. Dimethyl ether is produced through the methanol dehydration reaction, and further dehydration yields products mainly consisting of low-molecular-weight olefins, with crude gasoline and LPG as by-products. 7. The polypropylene plant utilizes the gas-phase fluidized bed synthesis technology for polypropylene developed by Dow Chemical in the United States; the process package is provided by Dow Chemical, while the basic engineering design is carried out by Toyoe Engineering Corporation of Japan. First application in the country; two series, with an annual production capacity of 460,000 tons of polypropylene. 8. The air separation unit utilizes domestic technology and is supplied as a complete set by Hangyang Oxygen Co., Ltd.; it consists of three units, each with an oxygen production capacity of 58,000 Nm3/h. It primarily supplies oxygen to the coal gasification unit, while the nitrogen produced as a by-product is used by the coal gasification unit, the methanol production unit, the purification units, the MTP unit, and the PP unit, among others.
