Suggestions from the moderator of the sulfuric acid forum regarding the daily question

On 2011-7-6 at 17:06, the moderator of the sulfuric acid section in our industry forum proposed a plan for launching a “question of the day” activity in that section. I believe this idea is practical, so I am reproducing the details he suggested as follows: “Based on my recent observations of the sulfuric acid section, the main problem at present is the lack of popularity – few people visit the forum, and as a result, fewer people post messages or engage in discussions. Additionally, since members don’t pay much attention to rating each other, their enthusiasm for participation gradually declines.” On July 4th, I held a \"Question of the Day\" session, and the number of posts posted that day exceeded 50. Even if the posts related to answering questions are excluded, the number of posts on technical discussions was still quite high, which shows that the \"Question of the Day\" format is an excellent way to increase popularity and boost members’ enthusiasm for participation. Therefore, it is recommended to implement a “one question per day” activity in the sulfuric acid section. To prevent this activity from becoming a mere formality, the following plan is proposed: 1. Phase 1: Focus on increasing popularity by presenting relatively simple and common questions, thereby attracting not only professionals from this industry but also members from other industries, who can help promote our section and boost its popularity. At the same time, guide members to express their gratitude for others’ help through ratings during the management process. There are 2 goals for this phase:  The average number of posts per day should be no less than 60.  Gradually guide members to develop the habit of thanking others for their help through ratings. 2. Phase Two: Focus on topics related to this industry; adjust the difficulty of the questions as needed based on the feedback received, maintain members’ enthusiasm for participation in this industry, further boost their interest in engaging in in-depth discussions, and initially foster the habit of thanking others for their help through scoring. The main goal of this phase: to build on the achievements of Phase 1. 3. Third phase: Gradually reduce the role of the “one question per day” feature, and use the difficult issues within this industry as “weekly discussion topics”. The goal is to turn the sulfuric acid forum into a platform for discussing issues related to this industry, so that members think of the forum first whenever they have questions; at the same time, a positive atmosphere of mutual assistance in discussions should be fostered within the sulfuric acid section – this is also our ultimate goal.
