Question: What is the minimum center-to-center or edge-to-edge distance between the column lines in the compressor plant and those in the pipe gallery? It would be best if a standard name or standard number could be provided. I’m currently on a business trip and need to prepare a technical proposal for the client, focusing on equipment layout. Since it’s an old factory undergoing renovation and there is limited space, I hope the spacing between the equipment can be as small as possible. There are no regulations specifying this; the pipe gallery is meant to serve the compressors, so being closer isn’t a problem, as long as the foundation of the factory building and the foundations of the pipe gallery columns do not collide, and there is no interference with the underground facilities beneath the pipe gallery.
What was said upstairs is absolutely correct. This can be discussed with the structural engineering team; I encountered the same issue last time. The structural response should be at least 500 mm.

Our compressor outlet pipelines are installed against the columns in the compressor room; initially we planned to weld them directly to the columns, but considering the high levels of vibration, we added an I-beam beside the columns instead.
