Conversion of calorific values between natural gas and hydrogen

This post was last edited by TH373637 on 2011-7-9 at 18:29. It deals with the conversion of the calorific value between 1 Nm3 of natural gas and 1 Nm3 of hydrogen (makeup gas: H2:73%, N2:24%). In other words, it asks how many Nm3 of natural gas can be saved by using 200 Nm3/h of makeup gas for conversion and combustion I would like to ask the experts here
Check the calorific values of natural gas and hydrogen; you’ll know the difference once it’s converted. The calorific value of 1 Nm3 of natural gas is approximately equal to that of 3 Nm3 of hydrogen.
The lower heating value of natural gas as a fuel source can be calculated based on the analysis results of its gas composition. Lower heating value = (2579×H2%) + (3018×CO%) + (5585×H2S%) + (8555×CH4%) + (15226×C2H6%) + (21795×C3H8%) + (28338×C4H10%) + (34890×C5H12%) + (14107×C2H4%) + (20541×C3H6%) + (27111×C4H8%) + (33528×C5H10%) (kcal per standard cubic meter). According to the book \"Methods for Corporate Energy Auditing\" (2nd edition), the average lower heating value of natural gas in the energy conversion coefficient table is 9310 kcal/m3. According to the GB/T50441-2007 standard, the energy equivalent of hydrogen is 125604 MJ/m3.
