However, when producing 98% acid, the following problems arise: it freezes in winter, and in summer the high temperature of the acid causes severe damage to the equipment. The freezing point of 98% acid is around 3 degrees; in winter, it can easily freeze without heating. 98% acid can be produced throughout the year; in summer, the amount of water used in the circulation system must be increased to keep the acid temperature at normal levels, while in winter, heating systems are employed.
The 98 acid produced by our factory is sent out directly and remains in a flowing state at all times, so there is no need to worry about freezing issues. If you store it in a storage tank first, you can install steam coils and insulation on the tank. The coil is placed outside the storage tank
I’m in Xinjiang. Here we use finished tanks along with polystyrene panels to construct the buildings; there is heating inside these structures (thousand-ton tanks). Production can take place at any time. It’s important that the pipelines have a slope, and after the production process is complete, the remaining acid in the pipes should be drained back to prevent the pipes from freezing. I once thought that during winter, 98% of the acid could be turned into ice blocks using molds, so that they could be transported around. Hehe, just joking
As a supplementary note regarding the issue with heat in summer: installing a small-area plate heat exchanger at the area where acid is produced can reduce the temperature of the product to below 50 degrees; it is currently in use
In summer, the temperature of the finished acid can also be reduced using an acid chiller with anodic protection
