I work in instrument maintenance. Factories tend to say that mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems are inseparable from each other, which sometimes makes things quite frustrating. If the amount of maintenance required for instruments is relatively low compared to mechanical and electrical systems, the compensation cannot be high. So, in order to make more contributions, I changed jobs at several companies. They are all new companies that mainly focus on debugging and similar tasks; it’s very busy there, but one can gain a lot of experience, which is really worthwhile. So I had some ideas. I’m not sure if there are companies or positions dedicated to instrument calibration, though it’s certainly not the after-sales service provided by those specialized instrument companies. Well, mainly I want to improve my salary and gain more experience; I don’t want to just waste time. Is there such a job? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I’ve never seen anyone specialize in debugging; generally, for newly installed systems, it is those who will be responsible for maintaining the instruments on the system that handle the instrument and system debugging later on； Instrument installation companies generally only handle the installation part and do not deal with commissioning. It seems that instrument calibration, if not linked to subsequent maintenance, lacks vitality.

Siemens – as long as the person in question is able to get there, the training provided there is likely to be excellent. I’ve had technical exchanges with people who have worked on PLCs at Siemens; our company has 2 specialists in instrumentation, 2 from the design firm, and 1 from the client side, and that guy was extremely knowledgeable and very skilled. By the way, this guy isn’t even providing technical support for Siemens; he’s just a salesperson

Generally, debugging is part of after-sales service for products sold by enterprises. In enterprises, instrumentation, metering, electrical operation, and electrical maintenance are divided into more specific categories. For large installation companies, they handle all installation, debugging, trial operation, acceptance, and handover tasks themselves.
