What could be the possible reasons for acid present at the pipe low points in the absorption tower and the heat exchange room?
I believe there is a leak in the demister; it comes from one of the absorption towers, and that is one reason.
Take a sample for analysis; if the acid concentration is higher than that of the first absorption tower, it indicates a problem with the absorption process in that tower.
The air velocity in the SO2 fan system is too high, the efficiency of the demister is low, and the packing height in the first absorption tower is insufficient. It seems most likely that it is the insufficient packing height in the first absorption tower. If this problem has not occurred before, it might be due to the fans being started at too high a speed during operation, resulting in issues with their performance
