I would like to ask the experts here: how is the amount of catalysts required for the conversion, hydrogenation, desulfurization, and synthesis of methanol calculated? Thank you!
The amount of catalyst required is calculated based on the space velocity in h-1 and the amount of feed processed per hour; dividing the hourly feed processing volume by the space velocity gives the amount of catalyst that needs to be used. I’ve seen this calculation method used in many publications
What was said on the 2nd floor is correct; it’s the gas handling volume divided by the space velocity of that catalyst.
I would like to ask: when calculating the catalyst amount using the gas flow rate and the space velocity, does this gas flow rate refer to the standard condition gas flow rate or the gas flow rate as it passes through the catalyst?
Just calculate it based on the amount of material that enters the conversion process, under standard conditions.
This is closely related to the performance of the catalyst, your daily operational controls, as well as the overall compatibility of various components in your system; it cannot be simply attributed to artificial catalytic degradation, which tends to be similar across different situations.
For batch feeding of the reaction with different space velocities in the treatment process, how should the catalyst dosage be calculated? I would appreciate your advice.
