Our factory’s high-speed pumps basically use mechanical seals; occasionally, dry gas seals are used, mainly for transporting liquefied gas. Dry gas seals seem to have advantages – can someone explain that?
Compared to traditional mechanical seals, dry gas seals offer advantages such as low frictional power consumption, long service life, high reliability, a simple auxiliary system, no environmental pollution, and low operation and maintenance costs.
A dry gas seal is a non-contact seal; it is a type of gas seal. The space between the end faces is filled with gas, creating a stable gas film between the sealed end faces and maintaining a certain gap. A dry gas seal is a new type of contactless shaft seal used in centrifugal compressors, axial flow compressors, gear-driven compressors, and turbine expanders.
Dry gas seals are also used on centrifugal pumps
