RTRT. The modification of the existing three process metering schemes focuses on batch metering of process media (liquid phase, at room temperature), which is used for catalyst formulation. I previously used a mass flow meter + on/off ball valve + batch controller (Shanghai Tongxin); it has been in use for almost 3 years now and the performance has been good ; I’d like to give the Emerson 3500/3700 batch controllers a try (it seems that Emerson refers to them as HighGain transmitters and discrete controllers). I wonder if any fellow sailors have personal experience to share? We are extremely grateful for valuable feedback including comments on the reliability and convenience of the operation~~
There are no major issues with 3500/3700 itself, and it is widely used in China; however, it is mostly used for loading or filling products such as beverages or chemicals. Its use in ratio calculation applications is limited, but it is still included in the recommended list as a standard application. 3500 is relatively simple, while 3700 is similar to a quadratic meter. Also, out of curiosity, why is a ball valve used? Is the required precision not high? Generally, two-stage valves are used when accurate metering control is required.
Reply to 2# sunray_sh: Yes, you’re absolutely right; if high precision is required, choose a 2nd-order valve; However, here it is only for catalyst preparation, so it can be a bit coarser – it’s acceptable from a process perspective ; As for precise catalyst injection, nozzles are used.
