Hey everyone, I’m a newcomer here – please give me some guidance. What is the term \"active temperature\"? And what is \"crude alcohol\"?
The active temperature should be the lowest temperature at which the catalyst exhibits catalytic activity. Crude alcohol is crude methanol containing 85% methanol
Crude alcohol is an abbreviation for a crude methanol solution; it is an intermediate product formed during the methanol production process. Due to some side reactions involving the methanol and the catalysts used, the methanol content in crude alcohol varies between 80% and 95%, with the value in our factory being 94.6%. The crude alcohol then enters the methanol distillation system for further processing to produce high-quality purified methanol, commonly referred to as refined alcohol.
The active temperature refers to the temperature at which a catalyst can exert its catalytic effect; it is a range rather than a single specific temperature value. Crude alcohol refers to the alcohol produced through synthetic reactions, which contains water as well as various light and heavy components; distillation is required to bring it up to the standards of pure alcohol.
