Dear marine friends, when working on hydrogen pipelines, what method is used for sampling and analyzing the gas inside the pipelines (the pipelines have been purged with nitrogen)?
For hydrogen in N2, chromatographic analysis is sufficient. It’s very convenient.
Simply use a combustible gas alarm; of course, it has to be explosion-proof.

Increase the opening of the gas sampling valve and let more gas flow through before taking another measurement to ensure accurate readings; before use, the instrument can also be calibrated using a small amount of hydrogen.
The instrument can be calibrated using standard gases, and precise analysis can be achieved through chromatographic analysis
There are hydrogen explosion test bottles that can be used for testing; I saw them when I was at the electrochemical plant, and their accuracy is pretty good.
What was mentioned upstairs is probably a flamethrower; the tests for carbon monoxide and hydrogen yield reliable results.
