The bottom of the ethylene distillation tower is usually equipped with on-line analysis instruments, which allow the ethylene content to be determined through such analysis. It is also possible to determine whether the effluent from the tower bottom contains ethylene by checking the temperature of the reactor bottom at a certain tower pressure; control can be achieved by regulating the amounts of ethylene and ethane emitted from the tower bottom, as well as by adjusting the heating and reflux refrigerants
