Regarding the minimum thickness of these valve bodies, various sources were consulted; however, the formulas used apply mainly to valve bodies made of cast iron, and there are no specifications regarding the minimum thickness for standard steel pipes. After performing calculations using these formulas, it’s not possible to determine a standard criterion – what should we do? The defense is next month; please give me clear guidance, teachers! :'( :L
What is the cooling temperature? When the temperature is below -29°C, it is necessary to consider using low-temperature valves. You don’t need to consider the wall thickness of the valve yourself; simply provide details about the operating conditions such as pressure rating, medium, temperature, etc., and the manufacturer will choose the appropriate thickness for you.
Thank you, Teacher Kuang Nao Dang Kun. For refrigeration units operating at temperatures above -29 degrees Celsius, the stop valves used are all of welded construction. I’m not sure whether there are any standards for such valves currently. The steel welded valves look like those shown in the diagram. When preparing the design specifications, I don’t have any standard values regarding the thickness of the valve bodies (some of them are made of cast iron or forged); it would be great if I could find some references. I hope you can help me with this! I hope the teachers can offer some guidance!
