During the hydraulic testing of the equipment, water was filled in last night and pressure was increased to the test pressure of 0.3 MPa this morning; after that the pressure was held constant while the sealing surfaces of the container were inspected. By 12 p.m., it was found that the pressure gauge indicated 0.35 MPa, an increase of 0.05 MPa. What caused this? At the scene, there were indeed many water droplets on the surface of the equipment, similar to condensation droplets, but they did not drip. The manufacturer says it’s due to thermal expansion and contraction – the water coming from the water supply pipes is at a lower temperature, and by noon the temperature of the water rises and the pressure increases. Is that possible? Is it possible for the equipment’s volume to be 31 cubic meters?
