As soon as the furnace was turned on, the purity level rose from 80 to 98 all at once. Since adjustments didn’t work, there was no choice but to turn it off. There’s no problem with the orifice plate, and nothing abnormal at the front either.

If the instruments are working fine, there are two possible explanations: either the two burner valves aren’t opened properly, with the chlorine valve being opened too quickly or to an excessive extent, or the hydrogen burner valve is being adjusted too tightly； The second reason is that the door of the synthesis furnace is opened too wide, allowing excessive oxygen from the air to enter; this leads to extensive combustion of hydrogen, resulting in almost all of the excess hydrogen being reacted away ； Both of these situations are extremely dangerous; in the worst case, the furnace could explode. Therefore, choosing to shut down the furnace is the correct and timely action to take.
