I have a question for fellow sailors: There is a mixture of gases being released from the oxygen-permeable sealing gas system. What is the purpose of this release of mixed gases? Is it okay if I don’t schedule it? What is the difference between the seal system of an expander and that of an oxygen-permeable device?

The shaft seal device is used to prevent oxygen from escaping, as well as to stop air and lubricant from leaking into the housing through gaps. Generally, a labyrinth seal with differential pressure control between nitrogen and oxygen is used. Oxygen shaft seal: Oxygen that leaks through the labyrinth seal of the balance disc enters the balance chamber at the exhaust end of the casing. ⑴Some of the leaked oxygen flows back into the compressor inlet pipe. The amount of this returned oxygen is controlled by the differential pressure between the equilibrium chamber and the inlet pipe. The pressure in the balance chamber is slightly higher than the pressure in the inlet pipe. ⑵Another portion of the oxygen enters a sealed oxygen chamber, where the pressure is slightly higher than that in the mixture chamber. ⑶The flow direction of oxygen in the shaft seal is different: under normal conditions, at the labyrinth seals on the high-pressure side of the low-pressure cylinder, as well as on the high and low-pressure sides of the high-pressure cylinder, the oxygen flows from the compressor side to the shaft seal oxygen chamber side; whereas at the labyrinth seals on the low-pressure side of the low-pressure cylinder, the oxygen flows from the shaft seal oxygen chamber side to the compressor side. ⑷At the labyrinth seal on the low-pressure side of the low-pressure cylinder, oxygen flows from the side of the shaft seal oxygen chamber to the compressor side, which prevents nitrogen from entering the compressor inlet pipe. Nitrogen shaft seal: Pressure-sealed nitrogen provided by the user enters the sealed nitrogen chamber, where the pressure is slightly higher than that in the mixed gas chamber. Mixing gas: The leaked oxygen and nitrogen enter the mixing gas chamber together, and the concentration of oxygen decreases as it mixes with nitrogen. The mixed gas is released into the atmosphere in a safe location.
The main function of the mixture exhaust is to prevent sealed nitrogen from entering the oxygen chamber, thereby avoiding a decrease in the purity of the oxygen being delivered
