Excuse me! Since the corrosion margin for the wall thicknesses of the equipment, pipelines, and atmospheric pressure storage tanks is no longer available, can this equipment still be used? Assuming the thickness of the pipeline is 10 mm and the corrosion margin is 2 mm, and the current wall thickness measured for the pipeline is 8 mm, then is this pipeline no longer usable?
It should no longer work. I feel that further corrosion is no longer safe

But in reality, it’s fine to use it again; the designer must have left some room for that from the start. However, it is recommended to remove the original pipe unless under special circumstances. Sometimes it’s a matter of responsibility.
The best approach is to calculate it yourself to see if it still meets the usage requirements; if not, it’s better to replace it, as that’s also a safer option. If it’s a regular water system, it’s fine to keep using it.
If it’s not a pressure vessel, the medium being used isn’t hazardous, so it might be usable; but under the current conditions, corrosion is likely to be severe. It’s possible to find out the reasons and recalculate to see if it’s feasible. The formula excludes some other factors
In pressure systems, they are not used if they fail to meet the standards. It is better to execute a thousand by mistake.
This indicates that the pipeline has reached the end of its service life. It is recommended to scrap it. This is because the setting of the pipeline corrosion margin is considered from the perspective of the safety of the entire pipeline system. The corrosion allowance must ensure that the system fails after 2 mm of corrosion has occurred; therefore, the performance of other aspects of the pipeline will certainly also fall short of the required standards
