Oils similar to light diesel are mostly measured using elliptical gear flow meters. Elliptical gear flow meters belong to the category of positive displacement flow meters; they feature high measurement accuracy, simple installation, a long service life, and ease of maintenance. Specific parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow range, diameter, etc. are required to facilitate selection. There are many types of flow meters that can be used if specific parameters are not available.
Vortex street meters are commonly used as they have lower pressure loss; The rotor can also be used, though it results in higher pressure loss; in both cases, remote transmission is possible on-site. Other flowmeters can also be used, but the two mentioned above are the most common
A vortex flow meter or a rotameter with signal transmission is sufficient; why install two? Flowmeters generally have on-site displays, including instantaneous and cumulative values; all that is needed is to connect the analog signal to the DCS.
