Can the quality of the stripping effect be determined through the compositional analysis of the regenerated flue gas sample, and if so, how?
Typically, regenerated flue gas is analyzed for the levels of oxygen, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. With the raw material composition remaining unchanged, the quality of stripping is primarily determined by the amount of coke carried by the catalyst. Indirectly, the quality of the stripping effect can be determined in sequence: a good stripping effect results in less coke being carried away, complete combustion, and a low level of carbon monoxide in the flue gases.
The impact is minimal; it mainly depends on the method of burning used for regeneration. Generally, there is relatively little carbon monoxide in the flue gas resulting from complete regeneration.
Reply 1# gaojinfeng: Under normal circumstances, the components of recycled flue gas are not used to determine the efficiency of stripping. If the stripping effect is not good, we can increase the air flow to raise the amount of charring, and the carbon monoxide content in the flue gas will also be ideal. Therefore, I personally believe that the method of analyzing flue gas composition to determine the stripping efficiency is not feasible.
Generally, the stripping efficiency of a catalytic device is not determined solely based on flue gas analysis data; however, there is indeed a relationship between the flue gas composition and the stripping efficiency. This is because the flue gas analysis we see provides data on the composition of dry flue gas; the hydrogen in catalytic coke converts into water during the coking process. The lower the sum of carbon dioxide, oxygen, and carbon monoxide in the flue gas, the higher the hydrogen content in the coke. Of course, this is valid provided that the sampling method is correct and the analysis data is accurate; generally, the sum of these three components is around 18%. If you don’t just ‘look’ at it, calculating it using formulas takes only a few minutes; it’s not difficult.
