FV stands for flow control valve, LV for level control valve, and PV for pressure control valve – there’s no issue with these. However, explanations for terms like XV vary; there are also terms such as solenoid valve, shut-off valve, on/off valve, quick-open/quick-close valve, etc. And then there are HV and KV
FV: Flow control valve; LV: Level control valve; PV: Pressure control valve; XV: Valve used for manual/automatic shutdown, may also be a plug valve; HV: Manual valve; KV: Flow coefficient. This is my personal understanding; due to my limited expertise, I appreciate any guidance from others

I just asked someone from our instrumentation department, and the answer is as follows: FV – flow control valve; LV – level control valve; PV – pressure control valve; XV – emergency shut-off valve; HV – manually controlled valve. KV has not been seen before; it’s likely also a remotely controlled valve. However, these should be explained in the PID legend
