If any approved modifications were made during installation, verification must be carried out using the “as built” or “marked up” drawings. The term “as built drawing” is often translated as “completion drawings”; could “marked up drawing” be translated as “drawings after modifications”? Please give me some advice!
A marked-up drawing is what we call a cloud diagram here, that is, a drawing that has been modified. It is usually marked with a cloud-shaped diagram.
The understanding is roughly correct. The as-built drawing is what we commonly refer to as the completion drawing ； A marked-up drawing is what is commonly referred to as a red-line diagram, as engineers use a red pen to clearly mark the parts that have been modified on the construction drawings. Both types of drawings require the signature and approval of the owner’s representative to serve as the basis for the engineering changes. Furthermore, the as-built drawings are developed from the construction drawings, based on the red-line drawings, and reflect the actual completed state of the project. The owner will retain the as-built drawings as a basis for future operation, maintenance, and renovation.
