For vessels designed in accordance with ASME code, where the heads are manufactured by a separate head manufacturer, is it possible to require that manufacturer to stamp the heads in order to identify them? Domestic head manufacturers generally have the capability to stamp steel marks, right? It’s not a U-shaped stamp; it’s just the factory name, trademark, and some other information
ASME heads can be outsourced. However, for welded end caps, if the welding is carried out by the end cap manufacturer, a steel stamp must be applied and an MDR must be provided. Of course, if your client requests that the product be manufactured in accordance with ASME standards without any stamping, then even for welded end caps, no stamping is required
