How to translate “dead leg”?

We know the term \"dead corner\" exists; in pipeline systems, there is also something called a \"dead leg\". What should be used as its translation?
Cecum? Generally, the section of a utility pipeline that is not used at the end is called a dead end.

Reply: It is referred to as a \"caecum\" in various technical manuals related to pipes. General design requirements call for as few cecums as possible. There is no term called a blind tube, but occasionally people call it a “dead end”.

It’s a post discussing dead leg; in the pipeline systems I’ve seen, there is usually zero dead leg, which means no dead corners or areas where fluid can get trapped. . .
Dead leg – is it related to the pipe support? To the supports used for dead legs?
