In the polysilicon process, recycled water is used quite a lot. For example, the exhaust gases from reduction furnaces, those from hydrogenation furnaces, and the mixed gases compressed by compressors, etc. These substances certainly include H2, HCL, trichlorosilane, silicon tetrachloride, dichlorodihydrosilane, and so on. There are also other condensers that use circulating cooling water to cool non-primary process fluids; for example, the condensers in oil cooling systems require a large amount of circulating water as well.
The circulating water doesn’t come into direct contact with the material, right?
Reply to 4# Ordinary Life: What do you mean by direct contact? Circulating water coolers are usually shell-and-tube type, with the circulating water and the material flowing through either the shell side or the tube side, respectively.
I have taken on a project related to polysilicon. Since I am not familiar with the manufacturing process, some of the washing water ends up in the circulating water, which is why I am asking this question. Thank you all for your help. That means the materials have no direct contact with the circulating water.
