But in practice, which comes first: following the written procedures or working alongside experienced craftsmen?
First, get familiar with it in writing, then learn how to do it from a master

PS: The goal is to learn and consolidate; things that are processed mentally are not easy to forget. This is consistent with real-world situations, and it might be useful in the future as well. Well-managed legitimate companies don’t need to do it themselves; the information should be available in their records. 4. Take the axonometric diagram to the work post, ask about each step and detail of the operations there, identify any differences from one’s own understanding, and record them to analyze the reasons and determine whether they are reasonable. Find out about the difficulties and bottlenecks in production. 5. The remaining tasks include summarizing, analyzing, tracking, exploring, and pursuing professional learning*, etc.
Learning from a master mainly involves improving practical skills through experience; it is important to summarize one’s experiences. If you are not familiar with the production processes or control parameters, learning on the job will be very slow. It is recommended to first become familiar with the process flow, control parameters, instrument tag numbers, and equipment performance of this unit, and then go to the site to further enhance your understanding of the process by combining it with the pipeline layout and equipment operation.
