The difference between front pressure control and back pressure control for centrifugal compressors

What is the front pressure control of a centrifugal compressor and what is the back pressure control? How is it controlled?

I have never heard of the term "front pressure and back pressure", I guess.: Is it the pressure before the check valve and the pressure after the check valve? In front of the check valve is the compressor exhaust pressure, and behind the check valve is the system pressure. For safety reasons, we generally have two methods of taking the pressure in front of the check valve, one is to take only the pressure points in front of the valve, and the other is to take the pressure points in front of and behind the valve. I don't know if some manufacturers only take the ones after the valve.

What I am asking is that compressor load control generally uses pressure control. So is it better to control the compressor inlet pressure or the outlet pressure?
