Our facility has a cooling tower equipped with a fan that has been in use for a long time; we are not very familiar with its specific parameters. The current operating data are as follows: water circulation rate of 700 cubic meters per hour, inlet water temperature of 38°C, outlet water temperature of 45°C, and ambient temperature of 35°C. I was wondering if the high inlet and outlet water temperatures are caused by an ineffective cooling tower. If it’s possible to replace the cooling tower, what type should be used? It would be ideal to be able to reduce the inlet and outlet water temperatures to certain levels.

It means the outlet temperature of the circulation water pump is 38°C, and the return water temperature is 45°C℃

The outlet water temperature is also closely related to the local wet-bulb temperature; the lowest possible temperature drop can be determined based on this wet-bulb temperature, and it is advisable to use industrial-type cooling towers
Since it’s been in use for such a long time, the filler inside must have become clogged. I’ll take it off right away to clean it and then put it back in.
It is recommended to replace it or modify it to an empty tower; specific plans require the building owner to provide detailed parameters. It should be no problem to lower hot water at 45 degrees to below 35 degrees.
