Our unit’s gas chromatograph has developed a problem: after hydrogen is used for ignition, the flame goes out automatically after a short while. Please help – anyone who has encountered a similar situation? Thank you first.
There are two possibilities: either the temperature of the hydrogen flame detector is below 100 degrees, or the ratio of hydrogen to air is incorrect. Please measure again; it’s possible that there is a leak in that area
At the critical moment, turn off the air supply, increase the hydrogen flow, then ignite it. Once it’s lit, gradually increase the air supply while reducing the hydrogen flow. Once, a colleague couldn’t get a flame to start; they tried using a lighter, but it just wouldn’t work. And you know what happened? They used the sample inlet as if it were a flame source, so of course it didn’t work.

Also, check whether there is carbon buildup in the FID and clean it first.
It could be due to excessive tail gas flow
