The distillation efficiency of conventional sieve tray towers is too low; a new type of cross-flow composite tower (a composite tray that combines sieve trays with packing) can improve both distillation efficiency and processing capacity. Can this be simulated in Aspen?
Theoretically, different types of trays or packing can be used in different sections of the tower, but it’s hard to say whether the calculations will be accurate
