While slag locking is mainly handled by companies such as Neles, Flowserve, and Mogas, for valves used in other processes – such as those related to black water, gray water, and oxygen isolation – in addition to the aforementioned companies, there are also manufacturers like Tyco, Burgmann, VTI, Kinder, and Masoneilan (which mainly produce globe-type oxygen isolation valves). In short, each manufacturer’s valves have their own unique designs and features, especially regarding the hardening processes used for the valve balls, seat, and stem; strictly speaking, it’s not possible to say that one is better than another.
