There are three major problems with valves: 1. They are prone to corrosion, 2. they wear out easily, and 3. they cannot withstand high pressures. In light of these issues, could anyone offer some valuable suggestions?
In my opinion, there isn’t a great solution for such problems. The simplest and most fundamental way to address them is by choosing the right type of valve. When making this selection, it’s necessary to take into account various technical parameters related to the operating conditions of the valve. The criteria for selection include: the type of valve, the sealing method, the frequency of operation, the operating environment (corrosive environments, coastal areas, high wear, etc.), connection standards, the functions of the valve (regulation, shutdown, diversion, control, etc.), the type of medium handled (liquids, gases, solids, pneumatic transport, etc.), operating pressure, operating temperature, particle size, cleaning requirements, and so on. Honestly, I really don’t have any good solutions
The problems with valves are largely due to improper selection. When providing information about the operating conditions, the clients are often not the end-users and therefore cannot fully understand those conditions; as a result, an incorrect selection is made, which is detrimental to the valve’s service life. Generally speaking, with the right selection and high-quality products, and unless the operating conditions are extremely harsh, the valve’s service life can still last one to two years.
The vulnerability of valves to corrosion and their inability to withstand high pressures are issues in the selection process. It wears out easily; it must be a quality issue with the product. These are just my personal opinions
They wear out easily, and this is also related to the material used; generally, in any medium containing solid particles, it is recommended to use hard-sealed valves, especially for pneumatic transport of solid particles
When there are particles in the medium, it is absolutely not advisable to use soft-sealed or spray-coated hard-sealed valves, as they certainly will not meet the requirements. Metal hard-sealed valves tend to have metal affinity, which can lead to blockages; instead, choose ceramic ball valves made of zirconia ceramic, which take advantage of their natural properties to meet the demands of such harsh operating conditions.
I have a gentle question: what does “by the sea” mean?
Wear and tear is definitely a problem related to the medium; if there are particles in the medium, soft seals must not be used. The other two issues are related to the selection process, especially the material used
It is better to choose sulfur-resistant valves for use by the sea.

Whether it’s possible to do it depends on the detailed process conditions at your site; just based on these three factors, the choice may not necessarily be appropriate. (For example, what medium is used, what is your switching frequency, what is the voltage level, what type of valve was used before and for how long, what is the conditions like at the site, and also how long do you expect the valve to last after it is replaced?)
