I recently had a question regarding submersible level gauges: in what situations are capacitive, resistive, and hydrostatic submersible level gauges used? For example, what is used for hot water pools?
They are all pressure transmitters, and in principle they are used in the same way. Check the temperature differences recommended by the manufacturer.
With hot water, it’s much simpler – just consider the impact of temperature on the detection; generally, using pressure is a better approach. However, when measuring other types of media, it is necessary to consider what kind of medium it is. If the viscosity is high, capacitive and resistive methods are not recommended; for media that tend to solidify easily, hydrostatic methods are not advisable
