It depends on the process requirements; it cannot be generalized.
Some have water pressure, some have air pressure... depending on the process
Generally, yes. For the pipes used in home renovations, a pressure test must be conducted before use to check for leaks.
After the piping installation is completed, and heat treatment and non-destructive testing are successful, a pressure test should be carried out. It is divided into hydraulic and pneumatic tests. In cases where on-site conditions do not permit hydraulic and pneumatic testing of the pipelines, with the consent of the construction party and the design party, non-destructive testing, flexible analysis of the pipeline system, and leakage testing may be used as alternatives to pressure testing, provided that such methods comply with relevant regulations. This post was last edited by security on 2011-8-10 at 17:20. Pressure testing must be carried out on pipelines; what if there are problems? Just like electric three-way ball valves, they are also subjected to pressure testing upon leaving the factory.
I’m also struggling with this. For ordinary exhaust pipes, the diameter is large and the pressure is very low, only a few thousand pascals – does such a pipe also need to undergo a pressure test? Especially when it comes to gas pipelines that are one meter in diameter, will the hydrostatic test load be too high?
