I started seeking employment during the summer break, and now, with everything thriving in society, this is indeed a great opportunity to find a job. Yet those who have spent years studying hard often ignore what goes on outside their world, focusing solely on books and neglecting the realities of life; I believe this is foolish. I wish to contribute to society by finding a job, and it is only right that I start working in order to repay my parents’ kindness and support, as well as to foster my own growth. I should not underestimate myself or make inappropriate comparisons that might hinder my chances of finding a job. Home and the city are one; for work and seeking employment, the city is the right place. If there are those who are capable and virtuous, could one of them be given a position under me? According to the principles of fairness for commoners, it is not right to show favoritism, for it causes distress in my heart. My intentions are loyal and pure, and my character is honest and upright; for this reason, my parents chose me to be passed on to the world. In my opinion, in matters of work, whether large or small, it is necessary to consult others and act with caution; only in this way can shortcomings be addressed and further improvements achieved. I have been pampered since childhood; I have a gentle and virtuous character, and I have some understanding of the affairs of the world. Applicable to today; the teachers call it ability, and it is also confirmed by the observations of fellow students. I believe that in dealing with all matters, if one approaches them with urgency, success can be achieved promptly and benefits can be reaped. Do practical things and speak empty words; this is how the wise achieve success ； Engage in futile actions while speaking the truth – this is why fools fail. With my parents around, whenever they talked to me about this matter, I would listen carefully and keep it in mind. I am a student; during the summer holidays I stay in a humble dwelling. I am fortunate to be born in an era of prosperity, and I do not seek to make it to the top lists of success. I hope that Bo Le will not dismiss me because of my lowly status or unconventional background, and will hire me to do work, allowing me to experience the hardships of labor. Grateful for this, I agree to serve Bo Le. Serve with utmost loyalty, stay committed to one’s duties, and strive to fulfill one’s mission. Since there’s no solution for today, I’ll just focus on the present. Do not doubt me, O Bo Le; entrust to me tasks of any size, and I will take on the responsibility, working day and night. Fearing that I may fail to fulfill the task and thus disappoint you, Bo Le, I shall strive diligently, even in the most difficult circumstances, so that whatever is entrusted to me will surely be accomplished.
