The product from the distillation tower goes into a horizontal tank before proceeding to the next stage. However, the pressure in this tank keeps dropping. All leak checks have been performed and they came back positive. The current solution is to continuously supply nitrogen gas. I know that the temperature of the raw material falling due to cooling could also cause a drop in pressure, but the tank is quite large and the liquid level remains stable; there’s no reason for the pressure to keep dropping, right? Was all that nitrogen carried away along with the material? It’s impossible for n-hexane to dissolve that much nitrogen; the pressure needs to be replenished every few minutes on average. . What exactly is the reason?
Reply to 2# chentao1985: The instruments are fine; it’s the same problem with both tanks! The side-line extraction tank of that tower is the same as well
Check if there are any issues with the self-acting breathing valve on the tank

If there’s nothing wrong with the gauge, then it’s probably somewhere leaking; I’m not quite sure either
What should the pressure be controlled at? Is it caused by internal leakage in the pressure relief valve?
If the gauge is fine, there must be a place where pressure is escaping! It might be a good idea to check things like pressure relief valves and safety valves. Our device experienced the same issue a few days ago; upon investigation, it was found to be caused by a leak in the safety valve.
Reply to 8# zhsju0315: There is no internal leakage. Currently, the pressure remains stable as long as there is no feeding or discharging; however, the pressure drops as soon as feeding or discharging starts
Does this horizontal tank discharge material while feeding it to the next processing step? Is the amount going to the next processing step relatively large?
