I want to install the DCS configuration software on my office computer to learn*, but since many systems have quite high requirements and insist on NT or the English version of 2000, it’s not possible for me to reinstall my computer with NT or that English version. Therefore, I want to install a virtual system that meets the configuration requirements on my computer, in order to use the demo version of the DCS configuration software. I was wondering if there are any friends on the forum who have installed a virtual system to run the DCS configuration software? How can this be achieved? Please give me some advice! Thank you
That’s possible; you can simply install a virtual machine and then proceed with installing the software following the normal steps. I use CS3000 as well as Honeywell products
These days, I basically use virtual machine environments to run DCS tests; in many cases, the actual configuration is carried out within those virtual machine environments.
Use VMware or VisualBox for virtual machines; VisualBox is smaller in size. Install the operating system you want, and then install the DCS software. Just find any tutorial online on installing an OS on a virtual machine.
