Different membrane manufacturers use different types of membranes. It is mainly about controlling the oxidizing substances in saltwater.
What is used to remove the oxidizing agents in saltwater? Is it sodium hypochlorite? Are there any other methods?
There is no real difference between MDD membranes, MRO membranes, and SRO membranes; it’s merely the marketing codes used to suggest that they are unique, as well as price differences. The denitration process utilizes the filtering properties of these membranes. In this process, a sodium chloride solution containing sodium sulfate passes through the membrane under external pressure – the sulfate ions are retained while sodium chloride and water pass through. This reduces the sulfate concentration in the brine; this process is known as membrane denitration. These membranes are all called nanofiltration membranes; without clothes, everyone is the same. It’s just that different manufacturers use slightly different materials during production. A good membrane is required to have high flux, high retention rate, low operating pressure, resistance to high pressures, tolerance to pH changes, and tolerance to oxidizing agents (all of these are relative terms).
That’s right; they should all be spiral-wound nanofiltration membranes. Pay attention to the operating conditions of the nanofiltration membrane, which requires the support of an upstream pretreatment process. This is necessary to maintain the high permeability of the nanofiltration membrane as well as its retention efficiency for sulfate ions.
