Dear sea friends, have you ever seen used low-pressure steam being fed into the circulating water system? Our company isn’t aware of what’s going on; we can’t find the outlet for the low-pressure steam – all we see is it going into the circulating water system, which puzzles me.
We have medium-pressure steam that is used to heat the circulating water, creating a warm water system
In my opinion, if the water quality is satisfactory, steam condensate can be used for replenishing circulating water.
This is quite normal; many factories do this, as it’s very convenient. Someone discussed this issue on a chemical industry forum in the past

That’s right; the condensate from steam can be returned to the boiler after deoxygenation, which is more economical

Some small factories purchase steam from external sources; the suppliers refuse to do so because they are concerned that the returned condensate might be contaminated, which leads them to use recycled water as a replacement. As the people above have said, it’s a shame to use it for circulating water replenishment – first, because of the waste of water quality, and second, because of the waste of energy. If the factory uses chilled water, it can be reused as energy for lithium bromide chillers; if possible, it can also be used as process water.
