Our company purchased a batch of welding materials for production half a year ago! A re-inspection report was prepared when the welding materials arrived at the factory at that time. Now, with the production of a second batch of equipment, the welding materials used are of the same type as those for this batch. We didn’t use up all the welding materials from the previous batch, so we wanted to continue using them. However, the client required us to prepare a new test report. I believe that for welding materials from the same batch, as long as they are still within their valid period, there is no need to prepare another test report, as it would be a waste of costs. And I remember that during the training, the instructor said that the retest reports for weld materials from the same batch are valid for one year. Therefore, I am seeking help here; if there are any regulations or standards that address this issue, they could clarify that the retest reports for weld materials from the same batch can still be used after six months. Re-inspection of welding materials upon arrival at the factory: It is carried out in batches, with each batch consisting of weld rods of the same grade, specifications, and batch number, as well as coating raw materials from the same batch, all manufactured using the same coating formula and production process. There are strict requirements for the storage of welding electrodes, with a shelf life generally ranging from six months to one year. To ensure quality, it is recommended to conduct another test on the retest report of weld materials from the same batch after six months.
