RT, or what type of pump can be modified to achieve low flow rates and high head pressure? Feel free to discuss!
High-speed pump (produced by Beijing Aerospace 11th Research Institute); multi-stage pump
Vortex pumps can achieve a similar effect.
Our factory uses residue oil pumps to replace plunger pumps; I think this counts as one example.
Pumps with low flow rates but high head are referred to in the pump industry as pumps with low specific speed. Multi-stage pumps can be used for this purpose, though the minimum flow rate of such pumps is usually around 5 cubic meters per minute. Vortex pumps are also suitable, but they cannot handle any particulate impurities. There are also rotary jet pumps; in China, only two or three companies produce them, with Sichuan Riji being one of them, and the 11th Aerospace Research Institute being recognized by the petrochemical industry. High-speed pumps exist as well; due to their high rotation speeds, their specific speed isn’t necessarily low. Additionally, plunger pumps and diaphragm pumps belong to the category of positive displacement pumps, and they operate in a different manner from the pumps mentioned above.
For low flow rates and high head, choose a positive displacement pump. Gear pumps, vane pumps, vortex pumps, screw pumps, and the like are relatively easy to implement. It is difficult to achieve high head at low flow rates with centrifugal pumps, or doing so is not economical.
Multistage pumps can achieve a minimum flow rate of 2 cubic meters, with a head of around 180 meters. Vortex pumps have a minimum flow rate of 0.72 cubic meters and a head of about 100 meters. Screw pumps can also be considered in this category: they have a flow rate of 0.8 cubic meters and a head of 120 meters
