The packing resistance in the upper section of the desulfurization tower has reached 50 mmHg. Are there any other solutions besides shutting down the plant and removing the tower?
Take advantage of the reduction in flow to increase the circulation rate and flush the tower to see if it works; otherwise, use the downtime to wash it with water!
I think once it reaches 50, there’s no saving it; it seems like this task can’t be helped after all.

Can water wash it away? Are there any examples? It’s blocked on my end, so I stop and use steam to clear it. Make modifications to reduce the likelihood of blockages. Improve sulfur separation efficiency and reduce the likelihood of sulfur solidification.

If the packing is plastic, when using steam, care must be taken to consider the melting point of the packing material to prevent it from melting!
I’ve always wondered why a packed tower is used for materials that contain solids – can’t some other type of equipment be used instead?
