Is gasoline considered a liquefied hydrocarbon? Why? Thank you
It depends on how one interprets it. Gasoline is a liquid at room temperature; it can certainly be considered as liquefied hydrocarbons as well. But generally speaking, the term liquefied hydrocarbons refers to liquefied gases that contain carbon atoms with numbers 3 and 4
Is it because there is no consensus among people? We call the C3 and C4 components that are liquefied under high pressure liquid hydrocarbons. Gasoline generally consists of components with a carbon number of C5 or higher; it is in liquid form at atmospheric pressure. However, some of the lighter components evaporate (such as those found in light naphtha). Literally speaking, gasoline is a hydrocarbon and is in liquid state, but it is not liquefied, so I believe that gasoline does not belong to the category of liquefied hydrocarbons.
Refer to the definition of liquefied hydrocarbons in GB50160: A medium is considered a liquefied hydrocarbon if its saturated vapor pressure at 15°C is equal to or exceeds 1 atmosphere; therefore, gasoline does not fall under the category of liquefied hydrocarbons.
I agree with the answer above; mutual assistance is necessary for improvement. Substances whose saturated vapor pressure at 15°C is 1 atmosphere or higher are referred to as liquefied hydrocarbons, and gasoline is in liquid form at room temperature, so it does not belong to liquefied hydrocarbons
